This past weekend Team Highland headed up to the Windham World Cup of mountainbiking to race the Gravity East race. Friday morning Damon was told he was chosen to be a four runner for the World Cup. He was able to practice on the coarse with the pros and did a run to test timing before qualifying and the race. It was a great opportunity for Damon and an awesome experience. Coming into the race Sam Wiggin was looking quick and was on pace to win but clipped something in an open section and put him out of contentions. After rolling through the woods Sam got back on the bike and was only 26 seconds off the win showing he had the speed to be top three easily. Chuck, battling a foot injury also managed to crash in his run but still pulled of a third showing he is one to beat in his class. And last Damon also crashed in his run but still managed fifth one second out of fourth. Although the race runs were tough for the team this weekend it was still a great time hanging around the worldcup seen. Also an honorable mention goes to Karen Eagan who took the win in the pro women class, way to go Karen! All four guys will be in attendance at mount snow this weekend, stop by and say hi!
