New Trail: Power Hour

You all asked…so we delivered! We are now well over half complete with the new trail “power hour.” It consists of  Huge tables and step downs, a curved wall ride, and a cannon log. If you have been at the Mt. at all recently you have probably seen the beginning of it; it starts at the bottom of ODB and merges back into happy hour right where it goes under the lift the second time. We are expecting it to be finished in the next couple weeks so get ready to bring your “A Game” and send some massive jumps! Check it out below!

Easy Rider Junior, The non lift access kid friendly trail

As you know we have just recently completed our huge project of building the new lift access kid friendly trail “Easy Rider.” This is huge to help progress our sport by giving beginners a trail that can really foster learning bike skills in a safe environment. Even with easy rider being so safe and controlled, jumping into a trail like that can still be very intimidating and overwhelming so we created a non lift access kid friendly trail on the hill. This is a great trail to bring a first timer onto before actually taking them up the lift. It’s a great spot to teach the fundamentals without all the pressure. The trail starts above the upper jump park and connects with the pre existing rollers and berms below the dual slalom course. Check out some pictures below and remember to bring the kids next time you come out to…

Amateur Slopestyle Competition: Video, Results, and more!

Today was an epic day at highland. All day it seemed rain was approaching off in the distance but it stayed far away for the full day leaving the slopestyle course sunny and hot! Right from the beginning of practice riders were throwing down. The rider pool was not what you would expect to see at a slopestyle event, with around half of the riders being over 30 it was a cool sight to see. And these guys didn’t hold back giving the young guns a run for their money but at the end of the day it was the young guns that took the podium. Highland bike shop employees Chad “Steak” Deluca and Chris “green tires” Chimeilewski taking fourth and third, Highland regular rider Chad Allen taking second and in first another Highland regular, Aaron Hamel. It was an epic vibe with all the riders and the competition was…

Freehub 44 Days and Rolling

Right before the Pro GRT #2 at Highland the Freehub 44 Days and Rolling Crew stopped by the park and got a few days of filming and riding in. “Northfield, NH seems like your standard Northeast town, but it has something most towns don’t …a world class bike park. As we pulled through the small town, we quickly saw a sign that pulled the entire Northeast experience together; ‘Highland Mountain’. After spending a few days with Highland crew Mark Hayes, Dave Smutok and Aaron Chase it became easy to see that Highland has such a good thing going. They offer amazing trails for every level of rider, and are expanding their awesome trail system with each passing week. Progression seems to be a big theme for the crew at Highland, and their trail system supports it… …Read the full story at Pinkbike.com

Team Highland Race Report: ESC #5+6

The past two weekends have been very successful for Team Highland. The first weekend the whole team was in attendance for stop #5 of the Eastern States Cup Series at Mount Snow. The course was fun and the team was set for a good race. Grayson was first up and won his class with plenty of room. Sam Wiggin crashed in his run but still managed to win the class. This was Sam’s first win this year and expect to see plenty more. Damon was having a good run and was almost down the trail when the last mud hole took him out. He managed to finish fourth less than a second from the podium. Chuck flatted at the start of his run but he still finished saving some points. The past weekend Damon, Chuck, and Grayson were at Plattekill for stop #6. Grayson once again won along with Chuck…
