PROGRESSION SESSIONS (Ages 13-17 and 18+)
You’re comfortable and confident on familiar terrain, but is there a skill or a feature you’re still waiting to cross off your mountain biking bucket list? Take your riding to the next level with our Progression Sessions!
Progression Sessions are for riders already at an advanced intermediate or expert level, with a solid grasp of the fundamentals. Progress in a fun and supportive small-group atmosphere, dialing in new techniques and tactics while learning to ride the park like a local. Highland’s coaches will work with you on all the skills you need to meet your personal goals.
Progression Session Structure
Your Progression Session group will meet weekly on Wednesdays or Sundays for four three-hour sessions. The topics and skills covered in those sessions are designed to build on each other consecutively. (Y’know, as you progress.) Topics can vary depending on each group’s goals, but will typically cover:
- Position & Berms
The goal of the Progression Sessions is to help you refine existing skills while also learning new ones. Group size will not exceed six to eight riders, giving coaches the freedom to cover a variety of important skills while providing individualized feedback.
When appropriate, coaches will ride with digital devices to capture video for review. Video analysis will be done after the session, and select video may be made available for riders to download for personal use.
