RESULTS: Week 3 Friday Night Race Series

Week three of the 2015 Friday Night Race Series presented by ODI Grips saw a more challenging track, starting racers on the natural terrain of ODB and running them through Reef Around, Paddy Glades and finishing through the Slalom Course. The reigning Men’s Open leader, Chad Deluca, was edged out of a third consecutive 1st place finish, well points leaders Caitlyn Anderson (Women’s Open) and Anthony Lombardi (Mens 12 and Under) extended their leads uncontested. Chad, Caitlyn and Avery are all out to a commanding lead, while Anthony and Jonny contend for the lead in Men’s 12 and under. Recap: Women's Gravity Weekender

Thanks to all the ladies that came out this weekend and rode with us at the Women’s Gravity Weekender! Everyone had a great time and left with big smiles and new skills–it makes for the perfect weekend! Take a moment and checkout the photos and video of the event. Feel free to share with friends and family and show them how easy it is to learn how to downhill mountain bike! Karen and Kate get the day started with introductions and rider assessments. Practice, practice, practice. Karen and Kate work on body positioning and flat ground drills. The pump track is the perfect place to work on weight transfer and bike control. S'Ender Bash – Closing Weekend 2014

Words & Photos: Ryan Thibault unless noted S’Ender Bash! Highland’s annual season ender party happens each year on closing day, and it’s a crazy affair. This year’s poster said it best: ride lifts, burn laps, dress up, get down and party! …and that’s what we did. Nearly 300 people converged on the hill to get in their last fix for the season. Another lap? Don’t mind if we do. The day was cold but spirits were high. The Sherwood jump-jam was full on. The dual slalom course saw an impromptu race break out and quickly degrade into a mass-start slalom rampage! The Highland Trail Crew klunked around the mountain in full regalia, boosting jumps, bending steel forks and “cold forging” them back into shape to boost again. The lift line felt like a party, and by the time the bull wheel stopped spinning everybody was primed for the base lodge…

2014 Brodown Showdown

Brodown Showdown Jump Jam, the chillest event of the year, is all about coming out for a day of riding. No pressure here! It’s simple, you throw down we give you sweet stuff. Music, fun contests and good riding buddies….what more could you ask for? So come and celebrate the weekend with us. The event is free with the purchase of a Day Pass (or for season pass holders) and only $20 for a Non-Lift Access Pass if you don’t want to ride the lift. Photos: 2014 OverMountain Enduro

The 2014 OverMountain Enduro saw nearly 200 racers descend upon Highland Mountain Bike Park’s fresh cut race tracks and bikepark trails. Sunny skies, stoked riders, and big prizes on the line set the stage for an awesome day of racing. The first stop on the Triple Crown Eastern Enduro Series was a rider favorite, boasting a course many called challenging and humbling, but most of all fun. Post-race riders relaxed with free beverages in the Giant beer garden, the perfect venue to share their stories of battle from the day! When it was all said and done, MTB hall of famer Marla Streb took the Pro Women’s win, and Seamus Powell rode to the top step for the Pro Men.
